Brad Oberhofer, recently an NYU student and intern at Matador Records, has got some worthy stuff going on with his band. The first time I heard them, I thought of Reptar. Both up and coming young groups. Reading around, people classify them as MGMT meets Wavves, which I think is a pretty good assessment. Not as tripped-out as MGMT, not as heavy as Wavves. Either way, the tunes are fly. Check em out.
